The Pros and Cons of a Portable Exercise Bike

Having a portable exercise bike is another great way to stay in shape. You can easily use it while you are watching the TV or when you are working. Because of its small size, it allows you to move it just about anytime, anywhere with less effort.

There are different types of portable exercise bikes available in the market today. They range from prices to the features they offer.

Though portable exercise bikes are smaller in sizes, it provides the same purpose as its big counterpart. Both were designed to tone the legs, thighs and buttock muscles. However, because of the small size exercise bikes portability sacrifice, some of the devices' effectiveness may also have been sacrificed.

The pros of having the size small are quite obvious. Even though it is small in size, it can still provide the user with its cardiovascular exercise as well as muscle toning. It also costs less compared to the bigger size exercise bike. And like what was mentioned above, the device is portable, making it easier to move around, bring along on trips, or anywhere you would like to bring it. It is compact as well, for easy storage at almost anywhere as long as there is space.

Where there are pros, there are also cons for opting for a smaller size. As the saying goes, "smaller price means smaller service." It might be true for some of these portable exercise bikes. Yes, they can perform the basic physical fitness functions, yet they do not have the safety or stability that the bigger ones offer. A portable exercise bike does not offer any back support like the bigger ones does, and the non-slip resistance might also be not as strong as the big ones offer. Some portable indoor exercise bikes can have stability problems as well. They might not be sturdy enough compared to the bigger ones thus they might tend to wobble and may have some balancing problems that users might experience. With a portable exercise bike, what you see is what you really get, while the bigger ones allow you some reach and sitting adjustments.

Despite the pros and cons, portable exercise bikes do serve their purpose. They help tone muscles of the legs, thighs and buttocks. If you prefer a smaller one that is easy to move around, portable exercise bikes are just right for you. Again, these are for people who do not have time for exercise. These devices are not recommended to people who are used to high level intensity workouts.
